It's a great way to get a sense of the power of the commercial version of BBEdit, as well as a great text editor in its own right.

• The best and most widely used desktop calculator. CalcWorks is a professional, easy-to-use, and fully customizable desktop calculator with complete scientific and binary math functions, printable paper tape, RPN option, constants & conversions, time and foot/inch calculations, and a very realistic look and feel.
• MacShare comments: This is my favorite calculator. It does anything you will ever need and it has a great interface, similar to Apple's. It even translates numbers to Hex code for programmers.

• Excalibur is a Macintosh spelling checker for LaTeX documents. You can optionally turn off LaTeX parsing, so Excalibur is a good plain text spelling checker too. Excalibur can spell check the clipboard. This makes it a good spelling checker for any text based application.
• MacShare comments: This is a great little application. Just select the text you wish to check and copy it to the clipboard. Useful for all those times when you can't access your real spell checker.
